Dossier consacré à la gouvernance extérieure de l'Union européenne. Dépassant les approches traditionnelles, l'analyse de l'intégration européenne s'est enrichie depuis une dizaine d'années en privilégiant la gouvernance : le système institutionnel communautaire à plusieurs niveaux est alors considéré, tel qu'il existe, comme point de départ de l'étude des processus d'élaboration des politiques européennes et en donnant toute son importance à l'interaction entre acteurs publics et privés, du niveau subnational jusqu'au niveau supranational. Plus approprié, ce mode de recherche permet d'évaluer le degré de légitimité et d'efficacité de la gouvernance européenne, ainsi que son impact sur les systèmes politiques nationaux, ("l'européanisation"), sur les pays non membres et sur d'autres organisations internationales.
