Les traités internationaux relatifs à la protection des droits de l'homme sont applicables par Israël au plan interne sous réserve de leur ratification par la Knesset, le Parlement israélien. Toutefois, au plan international, la ratification par Israël de ces traités rend son gouvernement responsable de leur mise en application effective dans les territoires occupés.
